Alitalia’s main pilots’ union has announced a four-hour strike for Oct. 29 to pressure management for
details on how they intend to return the struggling carrier to health.
FAA chief vows quick action on gadgets, stall training
The head of the Federal Aviation Administration said Thursday he would move “very quickly” on
whether to allow the use of personal electronics on planes below 10,000 feet.
Israel and Nigeria ink new aviation deal
Israel and Nigeria inked a new bilateral aviation deal that will provide for direct flights between the two
countries.
Malaysia announces new ATC facility
Malaysia is to replace its existing air traffic control and management system in Subang with a new
MYR700 million ringgit (USD$224 million) air traffic management facility to be built at Kuala Lumpur
International Airport.
Tigerair challenges continue as losses are recorded in Australia, Indonesia, Philippines & Singapore
Tigerair continues to face challenges, with all four of the group’s carriers reporting operating losses for
the three months ending 30 September 2013.
Boeing to boost Dreamliner production 40 percent by 2020
Boeing Co. today said it will boost production of its 787 Dreamliner by 20 percent within the next three
years and by 40 percent by 2020 as two longer versions of the jet join the lineup.
