Pilot unions have condemned as unsafe new flight and duty time rules approved by the European
Parliament on October 9.
EU transport ministers extend SESAR mandate
The EU Council for Transport, Telecommunications and Energy (TTE) Council has adopted its position on
a Regulation to extend until 31 December 2024 the mandate of the SESAR Joint Undertaking.
Arik Air spends $2mn to retrain pilots
Arik Air has disclosed that it is spending over $2 million to send 40 pilots to CAE training facility in London
for simulator assessment to test their skills for eventual selection and employment.
Aviation ministry set to ease overseas flying norms by November
The Indian government is set to scrap by November a rule requiring airlines to fly on domestic routes for
five years and to possess a fleet of at least 20 planes before launching overseas operations.
Ukraine now meets ICAO safety standards
The FAA has upgraded Ukraine’s safety rating from Category 2 to Category 1 following an international
aviation safety assessment of the country’s civil aviation authority in July.
A350 XWB has completed its first flight successfully
The second A350 XWB to fly, MSN3, has safely landed back at Toulouse-Blagnac Airport France, shortly
after 14:30 hours local time, after successfully completing its first flight that lasted approximately five hours.
