Collaboration is key to aviation industry
Aviation is still a new industry. If you subscribe to the belief that the Wright Brothers pioneered
“heavier than air” flight on 17 December, 1903, then it was only 66 short years later that the first
supersonic passenger aircraft took to the air. A chasm of technology separated the two events, but
only a brief period in history.
Bombardier Inc profit misses expectations as aerospace disappoints
Bombardier Inc. reported a drop in third-quarter earnings Thursday that fell just short of expectations
as orders and deliveries for new aircraft disappointed and execution issues arose in its train division.
Qantas stumps up $60m to help Jetstar Japan fly higher
Qantas has confirmed that it will inject another $60 million into Jetstar Japan as a weaker yen pushes
up the budget airline’s fuel bill and its plans to establish a second base are delayed.
ANA feels profits squeeze from weak yen
ANA said a weakened yen, the result of policies to revive the Japanese economy, have hurt profits,
forcing Japan’s largest carrier to almost halve its outlook for operating profit this business year.
