Lufthansa orders 59 Boeing, Airbus aircraft
Lufthansa unveiled a USD$19 billion order for 59 wide-body jets on Thursday, split between Airbus
and Boeing to replace older aircraft as it fights to win customers from fast-growing Middle East
and low-cost rivals.
IATA urges states to support aviation emissions goals at ICAO Assembly
IATA said Wednesday it has high expectations for the decisions that states will make at the ICAO
38th Assembly in Montreal next week and that climate change will be at the top of the agenda.
Kenya secures USD$650 Mln. for airport expansion
Kenya’s airport authority has received full funding offers from three banks to build a new terminal
and second runway at its main Jomo Kenyatta airport, hit by a massive fire last month, the
transport minister said on Wednesday.
No change in unemployment of pilots
There is not much change in the unemployment rate of pilots in Malaysia since last year, said

Dubai’s futuristic airport set to open for passenger flights on October 27
The futuristic Dubai World Central Al Maktoum International Airport, envisioned to be the world’s
largest airport complex when fully completed, is set to open for passenger flights next month
following the certification for operation of its new passenger terminal.
